St Joseph's Cathedral Appeal
From the Acting Principal
One of the goals we set this year within the leadership, partnership and resources area was to explore collaborative planning practices. To assist with this we introduced our Working Together Wednesday sessions with students.
Working Together Wednesdays give staff a chance to gather, work on planning practices and share wisdom while support staff and leadership work with students to assist with consistency across the school.
These sessions allow us time to have some fun and convey whole school messages. Throughout the year we have covered many topics from our school rules, handball, uniform and student wellbeing.
Last week we reflected on how much we have actually covered at these sessions and the growth we have seen amongst the students. There is a great deal of success to celebrate in this space. We will continue to work together to encourage everyone to be the best versions of themselves. Every piece of the puzzle is important.
This week I also pray for peace in our world. There is so much unrest – peace can begin with you.
A PRAYER FOR WORLD PEACE
We pray for the power to be gentle;
the strength to be forgiving;
the patience to be understanding;
and the endurance to accept the consequences
of holding on to what we believe to be right.
May we put our trust in the power of good to overcome evil
and the power of love to overcome hatred.
We pray for the vision to see and the faith to believe in a world emancipated from violence,
a new world where fear shall no longer lead men or women to commit injustice,
nor selfishness make them bring suffering to others.
Help us to devote our whole life and thought and energy
to the task of making peace,
praying always for the inspiration and the
power to fulfill the destiny for which we and all men and women were created. Author Unknown.
Let there be peace,
Kellie Richardson

2025 Student Information Form
As we prepare for our 2025 Class arrangements we invite you to notify us of any important information that should be considered for our class composition by completing a 2025 Student Information Form.
These forms are available from the school office and are designed for parents to formally communicate any important information in relation to their own child, for class placements in 2025 in regards to social, emotional, physical or learning concerns.
Please be aware that these forms are not to request a specific class, nor teacher, but rather to inform the Principal formally of any relevant concerns that pertain directly to your child.
All information included in the 2025 Student Information Form will be treated confidentially. As always, requests will be considered by the Principal but, as you are aware, many factors are well-considered when forming classes, and teachers’ professional judgement is vital in this process also.
Please also know that classroom teachers are not the only professionals involved in finalising classes for the following year. Teachers also meet with Learning Support staff and the Leadership team to finalise these lists.
Please do not put requests to teachers directly. Only those submissions made to the Principal will be formally considered.
2025 Student Information Forms must be returned to school in an envelope addressed to the Acting Principal no later than Friday 1st November.
Departing Families
At this stage of the year, work and personal circumstances sometimes mean that we have families moving from Star of the Sea. If you have not already done so, please send us an email or a note to let us know. This allows us to make accurate preparations for 2025. It also allows other families on our waiting lists for certain year levels to be considered for a place with us next year.
We hope you can join us for our End of Year Mass so that we can pray a special blessing for you and your family.

Have you downloaded our new App yet?
We already have way over half our parent community who've downloaded our new mobile App.
The App, Parent Orbit, which is connected to Parent Lounge, will improve our communication with each other as it offers a quick and easy way to receive notifications, add Student Absences, view and pay School Fees, accept or decline excursions via the Events and Activities, check the school calendar, update details and permissions and much more.
Some of you may already be using the Parent Orbit App for Chanel College and you will simply add Star of the Sea as another school you can access.
The App uses your Parent Lounge log in to access and will be a great way to access Parent Lounge features as you will not have to log in every time.
To download the App to your mobile device you can click on the link https://parentorbit.page.link/sosg or visit your APP store.
Most of our Term Dates for the rest of the year are already installed on the App so it really is a good resource for you.
