Who is eligible to receive this Sacrament?
Children who are baptised Catholic and in Year Three or above can enroll to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation
In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, God grants us forgiveness and we receive his infinite mercy. This Sacrament is also called Penance or Confession. Because God loves us so much and desires a fruitful relationship with us, we are given a lifetime of second chances and can receive this Sacrament many times. Please note that reception of the Sacrament of Reconciliation is required before your child can begin preparation for the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion.

2024 Catholic Education Week Kindness Project
From the APC
Happy Child Protection Week.
In 2024, the National Child Protection Week message that ‘Every child in every community needs a fair go’ will be complemented with the theme ‘Every conversation matters’.
Conversations are powerful tools to keep children and young people safe and well.
Conversations can help us understand issues, craft solutions, value community knowledge, and build the brains and social connections of children and young people.
Conversations between
…children and their caregivers matter (from the very earliest days)
…children and their peers matter
…families with teachers, doctors, and other professionals matter
…friends or neighbours matter and conversations in the public realm and media matter…
So this National Child Protection Week we invite you to speak up – and speak together – about what needs to change for every child in every community to have a fair go.
This theme provides a platform to engage in important conversations, promote the value of conversations and equip us to have conversations that keep kids safe.
Have a great week everyone.

In Our Prayers
Let us pray...
• We pray that we will work together to build places of belonging: May we create a community for all to share their gifts and to know that each of us is loved.
• We pray for all those who have died: May God grant them the peace and joy and hope of the resurrection.
• We pray for those members of our school community who are battling sickness and suffering in their life: May they find healing and comfort.
• We pray for all who live with war and suffering, that we will all be moved by the Holy Spirit to look for opportunities to bring justice, compassion and peace.

Have you downloaded our new App yet?
We already have way over half our parent community who've downloaded our new mobile App.
The App, Parent Orbit, which is connected to Parent Lounge, will improve our communication with each other as it offers a quick and easy way to receive notifications, add Student Absences, view and pay School Fees, accept or decline excursions via the Events and Activities, check the school calendar, update details and permissions and much more.
Some of you may already be using the Parent Orbit App for Chanel College and you will simply add Star of the Sea as another school you can access.
The App uses your Parent Lounge log in to access and will be a great way to access Parent Lounge features as you will not have to log in every time.
To download the App to your mobile device you can click on the link https://parentorbit.page.link/sosg or visit your APP store.
Most of our Term Dates for the rest of the year are already installed on the App so it really is a good resource for you.
